Goat Hill Fair this Weekend!!

When Vicki, from 3 Oaks Studio, invited us to help her with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint at Goat Hill Fair this weekend, we were thrilled! The fair is this Saturday and Sunday and you do not want to miss this fabulous event!  It is only put on twice a year and the first Goat Hill Fair was last September.  Nancy and I missed it because we were so busy with Loot.  We heard so many wonderful things about this antique/vintage, artisan fair and we are delighted to be a part of it this time.

Goat Hill Fair is located just up Old San Jose Rd., almost to Summit.  It is only 10 miles from Loot!

It looks amazing up there with redwoods as the backdrop to the charming fair!

We are bringing our Chalk Painted furniture and accessories from Loot to sell too.  We are heading out in about an hour to take a truck load up the road and help set up our space.  We are going to be located on and around the front porch of the farmhouse.  If you make it to the fair, please stop in and say hello and stock up on some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!

B.Y.O.P. Workshop in the Garden

We have another B.Y.O.P. (Bring Your Own Piece) Chalk Paint Workshop this Sunday at Loot from 10am to 1pm.  Check out one of the amazing Chalk Paint transformations from our B.Y.O.P. workshop last month!

The table was well-worn and needed a little bit of work before we could start painting. There was a small gap on the side of the table, so we fixed that with a little wood glue and a clamp.  Then we used a palm sander to remove the flaky, old finish before painting.

Here is our student, painting away in the warm sunshine.  We include a free sample pot of Chalk Paint with the workshop and she used less than half of the pot for two coats on this small side table.  A little goes a long way!

She chose Louis Blue for the main color and a little Old White for the beaded detailing. What a great choice!

She sanded between coats with a super fine sandpaper for an ultra smooth finish.  Then, she lightly distressed the whole piece on the edges.

Isn't this a lovely piece now?

What are you waiting for?  Grab that piece you have been wanting to paint and head over to Loot this Sunday!

This is a hands-on workshop, so wear something that you wouldn't mind getting a little paint on. You will be doing the painting and we will be here to answer any questions and give you advice as you go.  We will supply all class materials and a free sample pot of the color of your choice.  Please email, call, or stop by in person to RSVP for this workshop.  Class Fee: $125.

We will see you in the garden!
