Kitchen Cabinets Makeover with Chalk Paint®

We were recently hired to transform outdated, oak, kitchen cabinets in this lovely home in Capitola.  The couple that hired us wanted to update the look of their kitchen cabinets without spending a fortune.  Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan is the perfect product to do just that!

It is so easy because there is no need to strip the finish off or use any primer when painting with Chalk Paint®.

We started by scrubbing all the cabinet doors to remove any grease or dirt before painting. Then, we painted two coats of Old White Chalk Paint®.

After the paint dried, we applied a nice even coat of Annie Sloan's Soft Clear Wax, followed by a Dark Wax glaze.  We left more of the dark wax in the grooves along the edges.
These were just basic whitewashed oak cabinets before, but now they are simply stunning.  The whole look of the kitchen has been transformed.  It is amazing how much a little paint can make such a drastic difference!
Our clients are very happy with their custom Chalk Paint® cabinets!
